All papers and wood-based materials are made in Germany and sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council-certified sustainable sources(FSC®-certified).

Prints are made with museum-quality Giclée printing (specialised high-resolution inkjet printer), presented on acid-free 308 gsm Hahnemühle Photorag art paper, with guaranteed 100+ years of archival life. Hahnemühle is the world’s oldest mill, producing fine-art papers for 500+ years.
The super matt finish of Hahnemüle Photorag makes it one of the most popular papers amongst artists, illustrators & photographers alike. The paper gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients. It has a delicate surface, so it's recommended to have extra care when handling.

1.3 Jonathan Fortin | May 19, 2018 | Hackney Wick, London, UK

This photograph is a meaningful and sentimental souvenir bringing countless memories to the surface. It was taken on the roof of my studio’s building in Hackney Wick (east London), where I lived and worked for eight years (2011-2019).

The roof, which at the time had been locked up for years, was a gathering place for so many wonderful warm/cold days and nights. A community spot for BBQs, where you can go for a hang or bring your lunch and run into your neighbours. This is where I stood with hundreds of people to watch the London 2012 Olympics fireworks (400m away). It’s where I started my project ‘Dancers on Rooftops’, and in the studio below, I created ‘Transfiguration’, ‘Natural Beauty’ + much more.

My landlord started building new penthouse units at the time - a part of our neighbourhood’s intense gentrification. For this picture, we had to climb up from the side of the building. In the photo, my long-time collaborator, muse and good friend, straps circus artist and teacher Jonathan Fortin (Canada), is hanging on the metal beams - the skeletons for the penthouse units.

The photograph is presented upside down. I’ve always loved it, and excited to finally offer a print of it this way!
